This course provides students with the foundation of Korean language to enable them to understand and respond in the oral and written forms. This course encompasses listening, speaking, reading and writing skills required to be procifient at CEFR A1 level. This course also aims to help students to obtain basic grammar knowledge about Korean language. By the end of this course, students should be able to introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have. The students should be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

This course enables the students to examine demanding, longer texts, and analyse meaning. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions in familiar contexts. The students are able to use language flexibly and effectively for social and professional purposes. Furthermore, they will be skilful enough to produce clear, well-structured texts on both abstract and concrete topics at CEFR B1 level.
